Cavities Between Your Teeth Can Often Be Avoided

There is a lot to be said for flossing each day. If you floss, you get a lot more debris than if you only brush your teeth. That debris would otherwise sit between your teeth and cause decay.

The longer the debris is left there, the worse the decay will become, and it could even cause you to completely lose a tooth if left completely untreated.

How to Stay Cavity-Free Between Your Teeth

The best way to avoid getting a cavity between your teeth is to keep your teeth clean. This means brushing two times during each 24-hour period.

This also means flossing once during that same time. You need to use mouthwash regularly, and you also need to see your dentist every six months.

If you follow this routine day in and day out, you are going to avoid most cavities, including the ones between your teeth.

You should also make sure that you are getting enough fluoride, as that helps to prevent tooth decay all over your mouth. You can get this through the products that you are using to care for your teeth, plus from other sources.

One of the best options for getting a good amount of fluoride in your mouth is to ask your dentist for a fluoride treatment. This can last you anywhere from 3-12 months, depending on the current state of your mouth. You can also make sure that you drink a lot of city tap water. It is enhanced with fluoride, and helps to keep your teeth healthier with each sip.
